Friday 2nd - Saturday 3rd (TBC): Hastings Beer Festival
Sample a wide selection of beers and enjoy a number of local bands in Alexandra Park.

 

August 2010

 

Saturday 31st July- Sunday 8th : Hastings Old Town Festival Carnival Week
A wide selection of events to enjoy throughout the week, including the Welly Boot Race, Cycle Race, High Street Party, several ghost walks and various talks, plus numerous other events and carnival on Sunday.

 

Saturday 28th - Monday 30th : Herstmonceux Medieval Festival

Herstmonceux is a 15th century moated castle. Over 1000 Knights, Bowmen and Men-at-Arms will lay siege to the Castle - England's largest medieval battle with full cannon support. (www.mgel.com)

Saturday 18th - Sunday 19th : Hastings Seafood & Wine Festival
This is the 4th year of a very successful and enjoyable event. The weekend will include wine tasting events, cooking demonstrations, a host of stalls from acclaimed local producers, street entertainment and live music.

Saturday 09th - Sunday 10th: 1066 Battle of Hastings Re-enactment


2 days of events in the Abbey and Battlefield to portray the Battle of Hastings and show how people lived in the 11th century

 

Saturday 16th: Hastings Bonfire Celebrations
The celebrations are started by the Hastings Runners, running with lighted torches up to the East Hill beacon. The lighting of which is a signal for the start of one of the South East's largest torchlit parades of local bonfire socities through the Old Town, culminating in a spectacular firework display

Sample the delicious Rye Bay scallops, a local delicacy, they will be on the menus of numerous

27th Hastings Half Marathon, voted as one of the best UK Half Marathons by competitors.

Friday 29th April - Monday 2nd May: Jack in the Green Festival and Morris Dancing
This festival sees thousands of residents and visitors take to the streets for a spectacular May Day procession through the Old Town, which culminates in a ceremony to release the spirit of summer amongst the ruins of Hastings Castle
